It seems a little churlish to celebrate lost loves and broken relationships right after Valentine's Day. Then again, perhaps it's the perfect antidote to the relentlessly saccharine offerings from cynical card makers, insincere florists, conniving chocolatiers and ruthless restaurateurs

Either way the Museum of Broken Relationships in LA strikes a poignant, and often funny note in its collection of love-lost everyday disjecta membra from failed relationships around the world. 

And where better to store those strange, often mundane, objects we sometimes inexplicably give each other, whose relevance, seemingly concrete once upon a time, now rings comically hollow to our older (and possibly wiser) selves.
